WKYC: Innerbelt Bridge funding brought to Obama's attention

WKYC Staff

WASHINGTON - Cleveland's Innerbelt Bridge project may get a bit of support from Washington after last night's State of the Union speech.

Congressman Dennis Kucinich had the chance to speak briefly to President Obama at the speech. He says he told the president about the need to keep the Innerbelt Bridge project on schedule for the city's benefit.

Recently, ODOT revealed that funding for the second bridge span in the project could be delayed until 2023.

President Obama told Kucinich that Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood would look into the matter.
