Kucinich speaks at Anti-Escalation Peace Rally |
Monday, 14 December 2009 |
(December 12, 2009) Congressman Dennis Kucinich spoke in Washington D.C., Lafayette Square, Anti-Escalation Peace Rally seeking peace without war. Dennis stated that we the people must challenge our government, when we feel our government has gone in the wrong direction. He continued, "These wars are corrupting the heart of our nation. They raise serious questions about the legitimacy of the two-party system, and this coming week Congress will fold unemployment compensation into a bill which will provide 130 billion dollars to keep the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq going. The message is clear: we have money for war but not for jobs, money for war but not for health care, money for war but not for education, money for war but not for housing, money for war but not for peace."

The community I represent in Cleveland, Ohio, is suffering from massive unemployment, record home foreclosures, and small business failures.
